On a ledge above mist, rocks and twisted pine trees, Buddha sits touching the earth. This pose represents the moment of enlightenment. Satori is further represented by the ethereal lavender moonlight and row of blossoming trees. A river flows between, cascading into a dramatic waterfall.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
