In the purple twilight, White Tara sits serenely blessing the earth, beneath a luminous full moon, a blossoming tree winding down the hillside around her. Although created with the idea of White Tara, the figure could just as easily be Quan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Compassion.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
