Artist's Description

A gentle sunset falls on the fountain and basilica church at the Carmel Mission, San Carlos Borromo de Carmelo Mission. This lovely California landscape was painted by my father, Walter Sears Milnor (1936 - 2001). My father loved the Spanish architecture of the missions. Around 1972, we went on a trip to visit the California Missions, where my dad could take reference photos first hand. We got to 20 of the 21. He was able to complete quite a few large canvases of various missions. This one is in a style he developed using lots of texture and thick paint. I am pleased to be able to offer this extraordinary piece as a print.

About Laura Iverson

Laura Iverson

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
