Overcast June Morning Canvas Print

Dreamy gray skies nearly hide the distant hills. A jaunty oak tree stands on one of the golden hills, in seas of wild rye grasses. This California landscape, from Arastradero Open Space Preserve in Palo Alto, is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are finished off in green acrylic)--no need to frame. It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors. If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
