So many beautiful things to see in this magical Japanese Garden. A great blue heron stands in the corner next to a wisteria vine watching the koi. A turtle suns himself on one of the stones. A waterfall cascades into the pond. Little songbirds perch in the flowering pink tree.
I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
