Two ravens (or crows) on pine branches, framing a luminous full moon. The night sky is in surreal shades of magenta and red violet. Part of the Timeless series, which uses thin layers of wash inspired by grunge contemporary art to give an ancient, dreamy feeling. This visionary landscape is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are finished off in black acrylic)--no need to frame. It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
