Artist's Description

A nightingale singing her heart out to the full moon. Cherry blossom petals dance in the night sky, which is in shades of lilac, lavender and purple. Moss hangs on the branches, a reminder of winter in the midst of Spring. The title comes from a line in The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
