The full moon casts a glow over the scene, illuminating three pine trees on an island in the lake. A swan glides along, creating circles in the otherwise smooth water, distorting the reflections. This mystical surreal landscape in muted pink and magenta, inspired by Los Gatos Lake County Park in California, is part of the Dreamscapes series, which combines my original paintings with digital enhancements. The bubbles, scratches and imperfections enhance the otherworldly feel.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
