Artist's Description
A crow, or raven, perches on a branch of golden yellow gingko leaves, illuminated by the full moon. Leaves dance in the night sky, which is in gentle shades of lavender, deepening to a rich purple. This piece, part of the Zen Mandala modern art series (visionary landscapes in a contemporary Asian style), is an original oil painting on stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are finished off in black acrylic)--no need to frame. If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
