A spooky oak tree branch beneath a luminous full moon. The original photograph was taken at Arastradero Open Space Preserve in Palo Alto. This California landscape is part of the Eternal Wanderings series. The moon was added from one of my paintings. The grunge texture and imperfections give the piece a weathered, spooky feel.
I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
